Statement from the Utah Veterans Democratic Caucus on the Grand Jury Decision to Decline Indicting Senator Mark Kelly

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The Utah Veterans Democratic Caucus stands in support of Senator Mark Kelly and all other veterans and intelligence professionals who remind us of our duty to refuse to obey illegal orders. This is exactly what we are taught in Basic and Officer Training. Restating UCMJ requirements does not violate any statute or regulation but censuring a retired Field Grade officer for this message is a clear violation of the 1st amendment. When you come after one of us, you come after all of us. Our oath is clear and the United States Constitution endures. We will not give up the ship!
