Trump has ordered purchases of Russian diesel, ordered the shut off of intelligence information regarding missile launches, and restricted the speed of vehicles using Star Shield satellite communications for Ukraine drones.
The diesel purchases are purely political theater. They will fatten Putin’s treasury and ability to buy weapons but have negligible effect on prices in that the volume constitutes a small fraction of 1 day’s worldwide diesel consumption.
The intelligence and communications shutdowns will drive up civilian casualties and decrease battlefield effectiveness of the Ukraine military.
This latest effort by Trump to aid his buddy Putin may be the most disgraceful act by a US President in recent history. During my entire lifetime, an act like this to aid the enemy would have been denounced as treason. Congress needs to immediately act to overturn these decisions.
